Improving our services for North West Leicestershire April 2026

From 11 April 2026 we’ll be making improvements to services in the Groby Road and Northwest Leicestershire areas.

Service 15 Ibstock to Coalville
On weekdays, some morning and afternoon journeys will leave at new times to allow students to connect with route X16/16A to and from Loughborough.

Services 27/28 Leicester to Ratby and Services 29/29A/X29 Leicester to Swadlincote
We’re updating our timetables to help buses run on time.

In Ratby, customers for Whittington Drive and Charnwood should use new LC13 (see below) from Markfield Road. Service 28 will run via Main Street and Groby Road.

Service LC12 Witherley to Mesaham
The afternoon journey will now follow a slightly different route, running via Ratcliffe Culey then Atherstone, Witherley and finishing in Fenny Drayton.

Service LC13 Leicester to Coalville
Working alongside Leicestershire County Council, we are introducing your new service LC13.

This provides links between Leicester, Groby Road, Groby, Ratby Markfield Road, Botcheston, Merry Lees, Thornton, Bagworth, Ellistown, Hugglescote and Coalville.

Some journeys are timed to help provide early morning links to Glenfield Hospital, and academic links to Groby Brookvale College and Leicester city colleges.

Service LC15 Leicester to Coalville
Journeys which currently do not serve Thornton or Bagworth will now return to serving Stanton under Bardon.

As a result of this, and the introduction of LC13, there will be some timetable revisions.
